RECAP - Photowalk 12 Storefront Photos with Sitout Area

Unlike in the US and several parts of Europe, outdoor seating for restaurants is not common in India.

Though the trend has picked up fast in Pune in recent years and several restaurants with eye-catching sit-out areas have sprung up.

Here is a Photowalk on Baner Road in Pune showing the best places to eat with sit-out areas:

1. Hotel Rajwada - The Palace

Each table has exclusive access and is surrounded by a cool blue water pool with fountains giving the ultimate experience of luxury with romance.

This is a dream place to enjoy dinner with family or friends in the late evening and we have been here several times before the lockdown.

I went here again last week for a storefront photo and to check if everything looked the same as before. In fact, it looks better

2. Big M on Season’s Road

This small place has a big name and big ambition - one to rival the Big Mac.

It has a small but neatly arranged sit-out area with red and mustard metal chairs.

The sit-out area is surrounded by posters of the mouth-watering snacks reminding customers to order more :yum:

3. Fantasy Bakery and Patisserie

Adjacent to Big M is this bakery with a fantasy unicorn as its logo and a small but neatly arranged sit-out area.

The cute little unicorn itself is seen dreaming or perhaps just wishing something and the pattern on the floor is psychedelic too.

They have green-and-white combo plastic chairs accompanied by green palm trees that add to the charm.

4. Nothing but Chicken

They have attempted the fusion of traditional pure-veg Vada-Pav with a chicken filling and I will try this out on my next visit.

The storefront and also the sit-out area theme colors are are fiery red-and-white and the wall color and the chair color - everything follows this color theme.

5. Delite Oven Fresh

This bakery on Sus Road offers a sit-out area on a raised platform and offers some delightful fresh pizzas to be enjoyed under a starry night sky.

And with a cool breeze of air flowing from the nearby lake on a late summer evening, the experience is heavenly.

Here is the banner of the meetup though I chose the first photo of the palace hotel as the profile photo.

The chairs in front of Nothing but Chicken looks more like they are meant for people waiting to pick up their order.

I love the first one where the seating is over a swimming pool.

Including the seating area in front of restaurants gives an extra layer of depth that the photo AI certainly do like.

Cheers

PS: During the pandemic outdoor seating has become a lot more common in Denmark. Actually, the Municipality of Copenhagen granted a ton of permits to convert parking spaces into outdoor seating. It makes the city much more interesting and pleasing.

You are correct @MortenCopenhagen though if you look at the photo above it, for Fantasy Bakery, they also put tables later.

I took the photo in the afternoon when they pull off the tables to clean the floor.

Though people waiting for their orders also use those chairs and tables.

Also, it was a similar case in Pune with the difference that outdoor seating was almost non-existent in Pune, but it became increasingly popular during the lockdown. Now 2 years after the lockdown has ended, people prefer cafes and restaurants that have outdoor seating. The lockdown changed many things for good.

I did not know that the photo AI likes more details in a photo, especially storefront photos. I too used to take a photo that was as close as possible.

In fact, I always used to take a long shot and crop it closer to the storefront before uploading it to Google Maps.

Yes, the pandemic also brought improvements.

I still believe the straight shot is the top, but it also gets boring without some variation and depth.

PS: It would be wonderful to go on a photo walk together one day.

Amen to that @MortenCopenhagen

Does a Schengen visa work in Denmark?

It sure does, @TusharSuradkar

But I also really like traveling in India :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
