EUREKA !!!
Finally with the help of @JanVanHaver we discovered what the reported incorrect contribution on our Google maps profile is all about. It’s another form of Edit I think. It does go through the same process of a local guide suggesting an edit and waiting for approval from the AI or whatever technique of approval it needs to be verified. I have tried out a few and it’s not yet approved so my Zero is still staring back at me.
It’s basically used for when you don’t have the correct;
- Place name
- Category
- Location of the POI
You basically tick the box underneath it which says don’t know but this is incorrect. It strikes out the current or former one then you submit. It’s a one point thing Lol. You get the normal splash on the screen which says you’ve earned points for helping others.

Here is an example of what it looks like in our contribution details page:
I noticed that it took some days to get updated.
If you check your contributions stats on a Computer you will not see “Reported incorrect”:
I am not super happy with the wording “Reported incorrect” as it sounds like we did something wrong or made a mistake which is not the case.

Mine got updated in less than 24hrs really. I’ve got 4 !!!
That’s true, reported incorrect information should be a better nomenclature or name !!! That’s might be a subject with the GMs maybe.

After finding your post a few days ago. I decided to followed your steps outlined here on several POI. Im happy to report that this morning that big fat zero under “Reported incorrect” has been replaced with the number three.

Kan dit ook via de pc of enkel via de app op smartphone? Ik zie het namelijk niet op de pc. En mag je zelf naderhand de gegevens aanpassen als je weet wat correct is? En is het slim om bij een poi naam én categorie in eén beweging als mogelijk onjuist te rapporteren of doe je dat best in meerdere keren, zoals bij andere bewerkingen? @MortenCopenhagen : ik hoop dat u advies kan geven?

The new interface with “Report incorrect” has only been in the Android app. I don’t know about iOS, but not on Computers.
I have never been in a situation where two fields were wrong and I did not know what the correct info was. I guess you can make more in one edit if you wanted.

@DeniGu : I think this “report incorrect” would be a good thing to be added on maps on pc. I again would ask the maps team to make such things that are available within the app also be available on pc. In this way the user can decide which device he/she wants to use for this. Some prefer a smartphone, tablet, … others a pc. I personally find the pc the most accessible and trustworthy method. Thanks for considering.
