Se'i Sapi Lamalera, a tasty food from East Indonesia

Hai everyone! This is my first post.

Have you heard about Se’i? Curious about the taste? Se’i is an Indonesian Dishes from Kupang, it’s a smoked meat with spices. Originally in Kupang, they use pork as a meat but here, at Se’i Sapi Lamalera they use beef, beef tongue and chicken. So for you who looking for halal food, you don’t have to be worried!

My all time favorite from Se’i Sapi Lamalera is Se’i Sapi with Sambal Lu’at. They also served a clear soup and Sautéed Papaya Leaves together with the dish. And I love the Lemongrass Tea!

For you who wanna taste it, you don’t have to go far to Kupang. Especially you guys who lived in Bandung, you can enjoy the dish anytime you want, just go straight to the restaurant or buy it by go-food!

Interesting dish @rzkfauziyyah I didn’t heard it before. I’m curious, what do taste the papaya leaves? How do they cook them? I know the papaya is often used in Central American kitchen as an ingredient to soften meat or or papaya is part of the vegetables prepared in pickles.

Hai @BeatrizAguilar

Here in Indonesia it’s very common to consume papaya leaves. The taste is a little bit bitter. It’s very simple, all you need to do just blanch it then sauté with the spices such as garlic, shallot and chili. And don’t forget to add salt and pepper or you can add a little bit sugar to balance the bitterness. We also use papaya leaves to soften the meat. I never try the pickles one…
