#TeamVietnam - Famous bridges in Da Nang, Vietnam

https://uhulahlah.com/2019/09/18/famous-bridges-in-da-nang-vietnam/

Last July, I made a trip to Da Nang – Hoi An – Hue after lots of consideration which I planned to make it sooner. And, it will be better if you visit these locations at the same time thanks to their near distances, consequently it approximately takes you at least 1 week for the whole trip with a perfect plan.

And if you ask me what is the most distinctive feature that I have ever experienced in Da Nang…well, I have no doubt to say that those are bridges. Yay, there are a variety of styles of bridges in Da Nang that each bridge will be marked with one special character. In this article, I may only show everyone three bridges that impressed me immensely thank to their beauty and unique.

  1. Golden Bridge – a Bridge of Hands

Golden Bridge was inaugurated in 2018 that has come into operation just over one year. Despite of a short period of establishment, it has soon caught a huge attraction from both domestic and foreign travelers and has been introduced on many popular newspapers all over the world.

The bridge is located at Ba Na hill which is at an altitude of 1414 meters and 150 meters in length, it creates a walkway in the mid-air – a misty landscape like a fairy-tale place of Ba Na mountain. Additionally, there are two cosmic mossy hands which seem to keep the whole bridge into the heart, travelers also have a chance to see the far-flung primeval forests stretching thousand kilometers with the panoramic view of a beautiful city of Da Nang. It can be said that those hands are the most special features in this art masterpiece. Let’s visit Ba Na hill to enjoy the Golden Bridge in particular and other magnificent monuments in general.

  1. 2. Dragon Bridge – the Bridge with full of pride of Da Nang residents

With its location across the Han River, the Dragon Bridge was built in an architectural style of a dragon in Ly Dynasty as it reaches out to the broad ocean. This is truly a meaningful idea which expresses the aspiration to grow strongly of Da Nang city and also represents the new architectural art of Da Nang.

This is the first single steel arch bridge in South East Asia. It was inaugurated and opened on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of liberation of Da Nang. A special feature of this Dragon Bridge is that there are six lanes for vehicles with the width of the bridge is 37.5m and the length is up to 666m. In additional, the bridge was built quite elaborate when it is equipped with a lighting system of 15,000 LED lights.

Apart from architectural impression, Da Nang Dragon bridge is also designed with a feature that immensely surprises thousands of visitors which can spray fire and water. In order to enjoy this wonderful moment, let’s come to the Dragon Bridge on every Saturday and Sunday at 7PM to witness an event of 18 flames and 03 jets of water coming out of the Dragon’s mouth. And remember, please choose an appropriate location to watch this event, if not, you will be covered with waterfall coming out from that huge Dragon’s mouth.

  1. 3. The Love Bridge

The “Love Pier” is located at the East of Tran Hung Dao street, between the Dragon Bridge and the Han River Bridge. With an arc shape of 68m in length and 6m in width, the “Love Jetty” was built according to the ideas from the famous bridges with “love locks” such as Pont des Arts (France), Hohenzollern (Germany) or Tretriakovsky (Russia).

The walkway of the bridge is 2 meters in width and there are three 6-meters wide spaces for visitors to stand and take photos. The jetty is also designed to simulate the shape of “a carp turns a dragon” combined with octagonal stone pillars to create a highlight for the aisle. Moreover, this Love Bridge also symbolizes for the faithful love that many couples come lock their love on the bridge. When the night falls, the Love Bridge becomes charming and romantic that many couples, visitors and young people choose this bridge is a stop to save their anniversary.

The golden bridge upheld by the hands is not only fascinating but a piece for art. Many beautiful places to see in Vietnam. I don’t know how far is Da Bang from Thailand . I will probably visit next year and take a tour to Vietnam. @UyenHuynh thanks for the post you captured many beautiful pics.

Hi @UyenHuynh ,

Thanks for sharing, also for initiating the Team challenge representing Viet Nam! : ]

I have just also got the pleasure to visit the Golden Bridge and it really wowed how majestic the scenery was. (to explore the rest of Ba Na Hills was a tricky task, as it is really a big location)

I was also fortunate to visit the Dragon Bridge, as the interesting part is that we did not know about the part that after the fire show, water would also be sprayed (we were standing too close to the foot of the bridge).

@Emmik20 Let’s try, you will be immensely surprised by lots of beautiful places and delicious food not only in Da Nang but also other parts of Vietnam. As I checked that it’s around 1.5 hours for the flight from Bangkok to Da Nang (I am not sure if you come from another part of Thailand), it also depends on the weather. But hope to see your experiences during the time you will be in Vietnam. ^^

@sonnyNg Wow, hope you had a wonderful time at Ba Na hill. There is one unforgettable moment that I will never forget, that’s the cable car, I am really scared of coming Ba Na hill by this transportation. Yay, Ba Na hill is really too big, I still have not had a chance to visit all beautiful areas at Ba Na hill, but lots of wonderful photos were captured ^^

Hi @UyenHuynh ,

That sounds great!

From the cable car it is quite marvelous to look at the surroundings, as that may include the height as well, unfortunately!

Vietnam has always been on my bucket list. My hubby went years ago when your country was first opened and still talks about it and the food (this is way before we ever met), your coffee, and your croissants :croissant:.

We have just a small glimpses of your cuisine here - pho and rice plate places, but I know there is formal cuisine to experience.

Hope you continue to share more of your country here on Connect.

Look forward to meeting you in less than 51 days!

Cheers,

Karen

Hi @ErmesT ,

Thanks for the kind remark! : ]

As to follow up from what @UyenHuynh mentioned, the great architectural design of the two monumental hands, would allow us see how great it blends in with the surrounding nature. (personally I think it is absolutely magical and I hope one day we could all experience the same)
