The USS Midway aircraft carrier is now converted into a 3-storied museum.
There are exhibits on the lower deck, the main desk, and the upper deck, which is open to the air.
To enjoy the top attractions on the main deck, they have provided a self-guided audio tour, the equipment for which can be collected at the entrance.
Besides that, there was also an information desk, operated by the same people who operated and worked on the ship. They are called veterans in the US.
The main deck has many interesting exhibits like the costumes of the sailors, engines, wheels, etc.
The main attractions are however the airplanes and the bombs that we can see up close.
There is also a large restaurant with high stools and tables.
Besides that, I noticed there was a VR show to tour the battleship in action virtually.
The washroom toilets were accessible and had water taps as well.
The other attractions were a glass view of all the decks of the ship, and one could walk over the glass deck cut view.
A scale model of the aircraft carrier was also placed for an overview of its features.
The top attraction that I liked here was a souvenir coin machine, into which we ut real coins called the Dime or Nickel, and it would roll and stamp the embossed image of the battleship that we can retain as a souvenir.
Since everything in the US is up for sale, the battleship had an extra huge souvenir shop. There were the typical mugs & magnets, caps & cups.
Besides that, souvenirs were also in the shape of a bomb or hand grenade However, I did not purchase them for security reasons at the airport on my return trip.
The 4 parts in this series are:
Part 1 - Enter the aircraft carrier and monuments on the way.
Part 2 - Main deck Exhibits.
Part 3 - UpperDeck Exhibits.
Part 4 - Lower deck Exhibits.
