From time immemorial, I have always loved to help people and that’s what drove me into the ‘medical’ field. I have always loved shopping but being a medical professional, my time for such an activity is limited and hence, precious.
I love to review new supermarkets/shopping centres/Malls and be able to compare it with other pre-existing ones. Being Afro-Asian, the search for best bargains runs in my veins and I love to share whatever my bargain hunting activities can muster up.
Until about a year ago, I would just visit some specific stores, do some hurriedly much needed shopping and dash out before I’m caught in some horrific Lagos traffic jam. But ever since, I started using Google maps in order to avoid traffic grid locks, I became aware of the ‘reviews’ portion of Google maps and decided to read through some articles. I tend to rely heavily on other user opinions before buying a product and that’s when I noticed how helpful some of the reviews were and that’s when I found out how handy Google maps, truly was. Not only does it show me the best possible routes to get to my destination but it has streamlined and simplified my life and proven to be of immense help as well as a great time saver. I decided from that moment onwards, that I would contribute in whatever way I could whenever I use the Google map app.
As a result, I have formed a habit of reviewing most places I visit. I am passionate about sharing accessibility information i.e. highlighting wheel chair accessible safe parking / wheel chair accessible facilities in due consideration for those with accessibility constraints in no small part to my line of work as well as including a multitude of pictures with my reviews as I am a strong believer of the old adage that says ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’.
I love to share my personal shopping experiences with other Google map users in order that they too may benefit from the wealth of information that obtains through the use of this app. Also, I feel this world would be a much better place if we could all share knowledge freely enhancing both the quality and extent of life on this earth simply by just using this time saving application.
Robert Harris & Harmon Okinyo both had noticeable quotes concerning time which surmounts to ‘The true currency of life is time which you can spend once, so be careful how you spend it as we’ve all got a limited stock of that.’
Thank you Google for providing an app that saves me time as well being the only website I cannot live without.
I am most grateful.
