Welcome friends to Episode-8 of the Ghumakkad Gossip meet-up series.

It is going to be an experiential meet-up where the invited Guest Speaker will talk about the selected topic. Attendees are requested to share their thoughts (if any) in advance in the comment section so that the speaker will address those points during the meet-up. This way the flow of the meet-up will be maintained.

We have kicked off this series of meet-ups first with the most talked about topic Supporting Small Businesses. The Responses and Reactions of the GG kick off meet-up was quite positive and the outcome is very satisfying. After this kick off meet-up, we have observed the sequence of posts now on Connect, covering Small Local Businesses by many Local Guides. A truly welcoming impact of powerful gossip session with the Connect Moderator - Tushar Suradkar (@TusharSuradkar).

This episode is dedicated to a topic to celebrate on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). It is observed every year on the third Thursday of May. And, this year we are celebrating 14th GAAD on Thursday, May 15, 2025. The purpose of this meet-up is to get everyone talking, thinking, learning and implementing about digital access and inclusion. This is an opportunity for the participants to get to know more on:

  • What are the common disabilities/impairments?
  • How Local Guides with the help of Google Maps help in removing barriers through accessibility which unlocks the possible?
  • And many more…

And to enlighten on this topic, second time in GG Meet-up house, the Connect Moderator and Accessibility Champion Tushar Suradkar (@TusharSuradkar), has humbly accepted my (on your behalf) invite to join us in GG Meet-up series with his in-depth wisdom on the topic. He has been featured on multiple occasions by Google Maps: How anyone can make Maps more accessible; Google Video.

This is going to be quite in-depth gossip on the topic which is the need of the society. So, please block your calendar and get ready for the amazing session.

Don’t forget to share your queries (if any) in advance so that we will have the structured discussion with him around your queries.
