Dearest @Sophia_Cambodia What a great post, really exciting, it makes me want to fly there. The place where I have seen the most birds is the Danube Delta , Romania.
Thank you for sharing!
A hug

Thank you dear @plavarda yes, they are beautiful birds and now it is almost the season that you can see them. I have recently posted another one about Giant Ibis, which you can read more about Critically endangered species that only exist in Cambodia.
Thank you dear @Rayhan1981 now, it is the almost the seasons for Sarus Cranes watching. The Covid-19 restriction is also lifted. No more 14 days quarantine needed if you are fully vaccinated.
āThatās why we know they are native birds and that their existence were here like thousands of years agoā
Thanks for your detailed response.
Regards, dear @Sophia_Cambodia
Hi dear friend, @BudiFXW
Whenever I see such monuments, I imagine about the craftsmanship and the local life around that monument at that point of timeā¦
How meni sculptors and man hours would have taken tu to make this realitiesā¦
Then imagine about the local community who lived around this wonderful structuresā¦
Today I donāt think such monuments are created⦠If they told we see something itās all machine madeā¦
Thanks for your detailed responseā¦
You are right @TravellerG .
Nowadays people leave their track on digital.
Or on graffity on the wall, very rare in the sculpture,
In My country some tribe still maintain this habit like Balineese, Dayak and Toraja.
It is true, you can have a look here for the cranes carved at Bayon temple @TravellerG @BudiFXW
Ancient birds of Angkor: the first photo is the sarus cranes
Yes @Sophia_Cambodia .
I do visit the link that you give.
Definetely from the long neck and the shape of the body it is Sarus crane.
@Sophia_Cambodia woooow marvelous birds and nice photos
Hi @Sophia_Cambodia ,
Amazing post full of great information about the Sarus Cranes. I didn“t know they are so big .
Here in my area (South of Spain) , is easy to find flamingos at this time of year. I saw a group a weed ago while going to my job. They are migrating to warmer areas (from Europe to Ćfrica).
Congratulations
Greetings from the South of Spain,
Alejandra.
Thank you dear @BudiFXW yes thatās additional proof over the temple wall from the one photo I shared in the post.
Thank you @Mo_TravelleerX during the time of my visits, I saw several Vietnamese photographers coming to spot the site with their long and big lens. Probably, because the site is not far from the border and also the birds are interesting.
Thank you dear @AlejandraMaria yes they are big birds but I havenāt seen them very up closed. I only saw them in telescope and in camera lens. The rangers once rescued the injured one and they said the craneās knees are even higher than the toilet bowls - so tall
Flamingo, yes saw them in Instagram with people stand very closed to them. They are lovely colorful birds, not sure if we have them here.
Ohā¦I seeā¦
In your country, ā¦
