First of all, I have missed you all. It’s been a while and a journey of a year (to say the least), but I am here with you — and still very much a proud local guide! Secondly, how are we doing? Genuinely curious and sincerely asking. How has 2022 been for you?
I don’t have much to say right now, but I wanted to share a few pictures that I took on a trip earlier this year. Guess what?! I am still using my Google Pixel 3 from Connect Live 2019!! Till this day, I think it’s still one of the most meaningful gifts received and the longest phone I’ve had till date. I also gained a newfound love and outlet for photography, so thank you Google Local Guides team!
Anyway, I took a trip to Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Nigeria and this view immediately caught my attention. The sun, the fountain, and the water were perfectly aligned almost as if they were curated in a surreal world.
My day started at the Port Harcourt Literary Society Library and ended with exploring the grounds of Pleasure Park, a must-see/must-visit if you’re in the city! Not only were there rides, scenic views, and paintballing, there is also a beautiful golf course located next to the park! I am not sure if my adventure walk did enough justice to the space, but it was quite a peaceful experience.
Finally, there was something about this structure that I was fond of. I can’t explain why exactly and not really sure what to make of it, but I stared at the golden ball each time I walked by. What do you think is being captured?
Anyway, which image draws you in and why? Do any of these bring up nostalgic feelings? Share below!
The weather seems very nice. Was that an early morning picture? I’m still learning to take good pictures of clouds. By the way that’s an awesome picture of the sun with the cloud and the water fountain.
Woow…what a very beautiful place and photos. I am also a sunset and sunrise hunter. I think we have the same hobby, which is to capture the beauty of nature
@waza28 Thank you! This was around early evening time. I once got an advice of using the rule of threes for standard photography and have been using it since! Basically if you split an image in three (horizontally and/or vertically), something should be captured in each strip. So I just play around and try to find the right angle aha. Not sure I’ve perfected this as well, but we got this!
@AnikSetyawati Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear we share similar passions - catching the rise and set of the Sun at the right timing can be so breathtaking! And agreed on capturing the beauty of nature - can’t get enough for sure, so much to be explored.
