Nurture our Nature - Go Green and Save Green.
Hi friends,
Environmental Day (June 5th) emphasizes the role of communication and awareness in bringing positive change in the public’s minds.
Dr Smita Patil, in her ‘Environmental Day 2023 Challenge’ post (Here), asked:
‘Have you witnessed any of the Environmentally friendly places?’
Yes, I recently visited an Eco-Tourism Park in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu, India.
Yercaud, also known as the ‘Poor Man’s Ooty’, is a hill station in the Salem District - in the Servarayan range of hills of Eastern Ghats! Here, one can see & feel nature in its nascent form.

Among many beautiful locations, there are a few Eco-Tourism destinations here - one of them is the ‘Eco-Tourism Park’ on Lady’s Seat Road (Here). This is an island connected to the land through a bridge. The ‘Yercaud Lake’ water surrounds this lush green park.
This park offers long trails of walking tracks and resting places. Earlier, there were deer, peacocks, rabbits, etc. Here & Here.

The environment is very peaceful and oxygen-rich because of the greenery. One can relax for hours together here and enjoy the cool breeze. This island is fully plastic-free and is maintained well. The children have yo-yo, slide and many other facilities to enjoy.
They have presented statues of different animals and due to the tall trees, the surroundings look more natural. This park has a very decently maintained washroom, separately for ladies & gents.
Unfortunately due to the steps which lead the bridge to join the park, this place is not accessibility friendly.
Wheelchair NOT accessible =

How to reach:
Salem is the nearest railway station, airport & highway; then from there, the Ghats road has to be covered by road only. This park is very close to the entry to Yercaud.
Tagging @Smita_Patil who has gifted this challenge; I hope I have met your expectation
