Being a member of the Local Guides program means you may be able to participate on Connect. If you leave the Local Guides program, you need to take the steps below to also close your Connect profile.

While we would love to have you continue interacting with fellow Local Guides and Googlers on Connect, we understand you may want to adjust your settings or close your profile entirely.

Are you receiving too many emails from Connect?

If you are receiving too many emails, you can visit How to get the Connect content you want straight to your email inbox to adjust your email preferences.

Still want to delete your Connect profile?

If you wish to delete your profile entirely, you can follow the steps below. Please note that closing your profile will remove your personal information and content from Connect. However, if you closed your profile before October 15, 2021, the content you have shared will remain on Connect, but it will appear under the username “Anonymous.”

Deleting your Connect profile can be done in four steps:

  1. If you wish to download the contributions you have made to Connect, visit the bottom of the Personal Information page in Settings.
  2. In the top right corner, click on the gear icon next to your profile photo to be taken to your settings.
  3. Select Advanced Settings and click on the Personal tab.
  4. Choose the Close Account option.

After you close your profile, you can't re-open it. If you later decide to rejoin the community, you must re-register with your Local Guides account/email and start from scratch. Closing your profile will immediately log you out.

Note: Due to the volume of private messages Googlers receive, I do not read or respond to private messages. Please post publicly so others may benefit from your discussion. If you require urgent assistance, please tag a Google Moderator. Thank you!.
