Encouraged by the power of awareness, Jane joined the Local Guides community in 2018 and it quickly became a huge part of her life.

She participates in weekly global meet-ups centering accessibility and organizes them with fellow Local Guides around the world. Jane partnered with another Local Guide, Kashif, to host at least 10 virtual meet-ups focused on accessibility in Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, and parts of Latin America. She also hosted the first virtual meet-up in Ukraine, fostering an entire Local Guides community in her own country.

Jane's reviews not only highlight basic accessibility-like wheelchair ramps -but also whether restaurant booths and table areas are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs, which is often overlooked in most reviews. Access for Jane also translates to public transit. She uses public busses and trains to get around town and highlights the ease of transit in her descriptions.

Jane feels connected to a global network of like-minded individuals with whom she's developed strong bonds. "I found many friends. I found new horizons. My life changed a lot."
