Valentine's passion for photography, travel, and learning about places originally inspired her to join the Local Guides community. She ended up traveling and eventually moving somewhere unexpected, shifting to life on the sea, this year.

In 2021, she had to limit her travels, so she moved to Turkey since she was unable to go anywhere else. "It changed my life to the extent that I started a new activity, popular for this region, sailing. I even started to live on the boat. Totally life changing year. As a Local Guide, I stopped visiting cities, but stayed more in the sea, visiting and reviewing nature spots."

"I was always fascinated with the pictures you can see before you go to visit a place so it gives you a real-time impression," she said. "I was so happy to get into this program and ever since, it has brought me pleasure to take photos, write reviews, share accessibility information for those who need it, add spots on the map, and more."

She continues to inspire many people through her journey she documents on Google Maps.
