Martiña is an active member of the Local Guides community passionate about making Google Maps more inclusive. "As a Local Guide, my strength is that I review mostly unconventional places when I'm traveling abroad and gay-friendly places in DR that, as a member of the local LGBTQ+ community, helps these businesses and people to find them," she said.

She regularly adds and reviews LGBTQ+ places and events, especially venues that host drag shows. "It's important to me because drag it's a form of self expression, it's connected to sexuality, gender fluidity, and having fun," she said. "It's an important part of the LGBTQ+ community, and trust me when I say there's always someone looking for shows like these when in a new town. So, I'm sort of 'lighting the way' for people like me who can't find them on the map when travelling."

Beyond her helpful contributions in the LGBTQ+ space, she's also passionate about discovering "peculiar places," like spooky-themed bars and unique book shops, and sharing her findings with like-minded people on Google Maps.
