After attending Connect Live in 2019, Maricha, proud native of the Dominican Republic, said, "I am a Local Guide because I know the power of Maps. There are not enough words to describe how much it changed me, my perception of what I can achieve, how far I can go, and how much faith there is still in the beautiful people from around the world."

Maricha's photos, reviews, videos, and 360 images on Google Maps showcase the very best of her heritage. Maricha - a true community builder at heart - doesn't stop there; she also creates lists that include sustainable businesses managed by the community, women-led businesses, and more.

On Connect, Maricha likes to provoke cultural dialog and find inspiration in other Local Guides. She looks for ways to engage the community and says that she's "inspired by the community-building movements I have seen in Italy, Argentina, and Mexico (among others). And I dream about doing (in fact, I am trying to do) something similar here in the Dominican Republic with ' Local Guides Dominicana.'"
