Nahid's Local Guide experience has always been about how to create a positive impact. After taking a job that necessitated daily travel, Nahid realized these regular trips to stores and businesses could help others navigate roadside conditions and find short-cuts. With over 400+ places added and counting, Nahid continues to raise the bar for how Local Guides can help shape their community.

What is your favorite place, experience, photo or video you contributed to Google Maps this year?
After COVID-19, I took a job where I had to travel a lot and had to wait in front of stores and businesses. I used this time to add the missing places nearby my hometown, reviewing my experience at numerous businesses, and taking photos of storefronts.

What advice do you have for other Local Guides?
It's not a competition. Make your goal to help people. Build your community and keep yourself active and healthy. See the positive impact and find the opportunity to always help.

What do you like most about the Local Guides community?
The Local Guide community is full of people who love contributing to help others and influence their local experiences. I like to meet new friends, share my ideas with other volunteers, and learn about their experiences in their communities.

What makes a place or experience worth rating/reviewing?
I think it's important to share one's personal experiences, no matter the type of location. Sometimes sharing reviews can help other people discover the features of a place, such as clinics and hospitals.

What is your favorite feature of Google Maps?
My favorite thing is creating lists and keeping track of the places I want to go in the future.
