Ravindu truly cares about going above and beyond to help people, on Google Maps, both on land and underwater.

As an environmental activist and someone who cares deeply about the ocean, he has created and hosted multiple meet-ups that were held underwater (in addition to many other land meet-ups). As part of the environmental initiative #Let'sBringaBottleBack, Ravindu is a strong supporter of Earth Day and urges fellow Local Guides to follow his example.

Beyond his focus on saving the planet, he's also been passionate about helping people. During COVID-19, together with the help of other Local Guides, he managed to feed local 58 families for two weeks by delivering food packages on his own motor bike. "It made me very happy when I found a way to help others, do community service and contribute to making this world a better place for everybody," he said. "Being a local guide has given me the opportunity to combine both the 'adventure traveler' and 'helping hand' within me and make a positive impact on my community, my country and the world."
