Penny is passionate about helping others navigate the world around them. An avid Accessibility Champion, Penny makes it a point to reflect important information about accessibility in all of her reviews. On Connect, she's an active member of the #AccessibilityUncovered series, sharing thoughts on topics such as accessible transport, adaptive clothing, assistive tech and more.

"I like knowing that my contributions on Google Maps can make a difference to people's everyday lives. By adding photos, reviews and edits on the map I know that I am helping businesses grow and change and helping people find what they are looking for."

Even though she couldn't go many places this year, she continued her mission to make helpful updates on the Map. "Being a Local Guide in lockdown also meant changing and adapting the way I contribute to Google Maps," she said. "Businesses all around me were closing either temporarily or permanently, which gave me the opportunity, as a Local Guide, to edit the map. This meant I could still contribute even though I couldn't go anywhere."

Penny was one of the many bright stars who continued to guide the way for others this year.
