Jan is all about making sure that information on Google Maps is correct and aims to keep his community up-to-date through his contributions. Why? "I'm the kind of person that is unable to just sit around and do nothing, and whenever possible, I prefer to do something useful," he told us.

In addition to Jan's work creating informative and to-the-point contributions on Google Maps, he's the voice and founder of the LetsGuide podcast (devoted to sharing information for and about Local Guides) and the Local Guides Clean the Map campaign on Connect.

He also has not let the year get him down or lead him away from his passion as a Local Guide. "When it comes to my 2020 experience as a Local Guide, I tend to focus on the upsides. It's a pity physical meet-ups are not really an option at the moment, but boy oh boy, what a surge in virtual meet-ups have we seen! Those are really a fun way to meet other Local Guides from all over the globe." Another upside is that he's found that it's easier to take helpful photographs of places now that there are not many people out and about.

His positive attitude and helpful spirit shines through his contributions on and off the Map.
