Karol is passionate about helping people and does so through her creative and informative reviews, photos and lists on Google Maps. "The main reason I contribute is that I see the Local Guides program as an opportunity to uplift my community and the wonderful places and people in it," she said. "I'm proud to live in a place surrounded by natural beauty, with an incredibly rich cultural background and a growing industry of locally-owned small businesses."

Some of the topics of her lists include environmentally-friendly locations and sustainable places in her area. "As a Local Guide, I feel it's important to give extra support and encouragement to businesses for more than their convenient opening hours or prices, but for having a kind and caring attitude towards everyone and a strong sense of responsibility towards sustainable development," she said.

This year, she's been focused on staying positive and connecting with fellow Local Guides virtually. "On the bright side, I was able to participate in several online meet-ups with people from all over the world. I have seen the Argentinian community grow bigger and more active than ever, and I co-hosted my first meet-up as part of a collaborative series with other Local Guides from my country."
