Cory B.

Cory B.

Level 7 • Montreal, Canada

A self-proclaimed "30-something queer fitness enthusiast," Cory creates content on Google Maps that focuses both on her fitness journey and on LGBTQIA+-friendly places. Her passion for life and mission to highlight inclusive places captures the spirit of the Local Guides program.

"I love what being a Local Guide represents," Cory told us. "It's this amazing community that allows you to share a passion for travel, local and abroad, as well as gives you a platform to help make people's experiences out at places all that much better."

We love what Cory contributes to the community, especially her lists of LGBTQIA+ venues that make everyone feel welcome. Coincidentally, feeling welcome is why Cory enjoys being part of the Local Guides community. "I love that there is no judgment here," she told us. "I can be me, share the things I love, and be accepted."

Cory also says her participation in the program has helped them find motivation for getting exercise. "Being a Google Local Guide is a great push to get out and explore. It gets you moving on those days you just want to lay on the couch," she told us. "I love that I can review local hiking trails in my area. It's kept me active in a time that not all your regular avenues for physical activity are available."

Cory truly represents inclusivity and helps others by sharing places they can explore and feel welcome, no matter who they are, what they look like, or whom they love.
