Alexandre Campbell cares about making positive change in his community and around the world. "I am a Local Guide because I know that my contributions to Google Maps positively impact the lives of thousands of people and contribute to small businesses' growth," he told us.

Incredibly active in creating community, Alexandre was instrumental in bringing the Brazilian community of Local Guides together. With the help of a few other Local Guides, he organizes a monthly meet-up where they talk about program news, updates, and how they can encourage more Brazilian Local Guides to join them in their mission.

"I love being part of a global and diverse community of millions of people worldwide who share this same passion. We are people who love meeting each other in person and virtually not only to discuss improvements to the program and Google Maps but also to learn more about different cultures, accessibility, sustainability, and other relevant topics to the planet."

He used his time at home during COVID-19 to support businesses through his contributions on Google Maps. "During this period, I started to review my online experiences and also my delivery and takeaway food orders. I'm also editing places and correcting contact information to help small businesses sell online," he said. "As a Local Guide, I also started to organize and attend more virtual meetings since face-to-face meet-ups are not recommended in my country. I've been actively participating on Local Guides Connect, and I was very honored to be invited to be a Connect Moderator. It has been a great satisfaction to be useful to the community, answer questions about the program and Google Maps, welcome newcomers, and interact with my fellow Local Guides."

Alexandre's passion for helping others, both people and businesses, is evident through his actions this year.
