Daniel Reimer is passionate about highlighting safe spaces for everyone on Google Maps, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community.

An avid traveler, Daniel said "2020 has been a real challenge, but I managed to travel, if only for a little bit, and visited Switzerland and Sweden." He followed all health protocols and even quarantined for two weeks upon returning to the United Kingdom, he told us. While he was away, he was able to continue doing what he loves most: adding LGBTQIA+ places to the Map and reviewing existing places where everyone feels welcome.

"It felt great to briefly be part of their [Switzerland's] LGBTQ+ community and feel some positive vibes abroad within LGBTQ+ venues," he said. "Similar in Stockholm, I managed to visit some gay bars and a club, which I could feel were far from reaching their full potential due to COVID-19 restrictions, but it was fantastic just being able to connect with LGBTQ+ communities in other countries and to get a feeling for what life is like for them during these challenging times." In addition to having a positive experience himself, he's continued to make a positive impact for others on Google Maps.
