Chinonso O.

Chinonso O.

Level 7 • Owerri, Nigeria

Working in the education sector, Chinonso takes a special interest in cognitive accessibility. "Cognitive accessibility caters to those with learning disabilities and/or challenges in the areas of attention, control, memory, perception and reasoning," she explained. "I have been working with adolescent children in an educational setting for 8 years now, and I see this as an area that is often overlooked. I know cognitive accessibility is a concept that takes time to fully grasp, but that is why I love accessibility: being able to learn more and educate others."

Part of the One Accessibility campaign and previously recognized as an Accessibility Champion, Chinonso continues to follow her mission this year. She frequently posts interesting content about accessibility on Connect, including an accessible travel guide to Abuja and helpful information about accessible furniture.

This year, she was also able to stay in touch with fellow Local Guides virtually while continuing to contribute from home. "As a Local Guide, I felt more connected with other Local Guides around the world this year and I believe this was a result of all the virtual meet-ups," she said. "I have always wondered how meet-ups were conducted in different parts of the world. I was thrilled to attend many virtual meet-ups and lead a couple myself."
