Ralph H. spent 2020 working to make the Map more inclusive. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he is passionate about helping others find places where they feel welcome. To help spread awareness about inclusive spots like this on Google Maps, he regularly creates lists like Best gay bars in Chicago to ensure that people can find safe spaces for support.

He also created an extensive list of Black-owned businesses in Chicago. "This year found me looking for ways to support minorities, especially people of color. I found many small lists of Black-owned businesses in the Chicago area, but not any complete or up-to-date lists. I found that quite a few Black-owned businesses were not listed on Google Maps," he said. "I know that being on Google Maps is a huge part of being able to be found locally. So, I started adding businesses that weren't listed and I also started adding information to businesses that were listed to make sure that profiles were complete."

In addition to curating inclusive places on Google Maps, he's also focused on making sure people feel safe during the pandemic. He has dedicated himself to writing reviews with detailed information on how businesses take measures to protect their customers from COVID-19.
