Street Food or Mama Put

Street Food or Otherwise known as Mama Put is a popular type of food that is actually fast and easy to purchase in Nigeria.

“Mama Put” is a Nigerian Pidgin Language for street food. It can be easily seen everywhere and around the corner of the cities.

Mama Put is, Definition: Local restaurant often found on the street corners. They are cheaper than proper restaurants.

People normally patronize Mama Put because of the following reasons

  1. They are too hungry to find a Proper Restaurant meal
  2. They don’t have enough money to go to a Proper Restaurant
  3. They are in a haste
  4. They are too busy to wait for the waiters to take their orders.
  5. They just love the taste of Mama Put because sometimes they cook really well, theirs taste like home cooking

There are some assumptions that street foods are not actually good because most of the times it lacks hygiene when preparing it. Many of the vendors are not monitored, we sometimes buy from them based on recommendations. Like I said, it is just an assumption. I do patronize street food but before I do, i am always acquainted with the area the Mama Put is?

Below are some street food take away foods.

jellof rice with baked beans garnished with beef and boiled egg.

@Austinelewex I’m not a fan of Street food, but it’s of course very convenient and fast. Street food can help out much in some situations.

The most popular in Minsk are hot-dogs, cheeseburgers, shawarma, stuffed pancakes.

Here the links for some popular places: Shawarma Kurkuma, Doner kebab, KFC, McDonald’s. It’s the networks, there are a lot of them in the city.

The interesting place where different kinds of street food are gathered together is Pesochnitsa. I wrote about it in my post about an old New Year. But this place can hardly be named the fast food. You should go there specially. And find it first.

@Ant_Bad_Yogi @Austinelewex Both of You will definitely get a memorable experience, as there are many streets foods even locals don’t knows. I know the whole city like palm of my hands as 30-35 years back when I was student I come to Kolkata for study from my village and to save money I don’t take bus or tram that time, but walks to reach everywhere and in 10 years I know every roads every lane in the city.

Now I laugh on myself thinking those old days.
