I hope this isn't just me not seeing things properly but when I look at a place in the Maps application (Android) I can often see that there are a number of ratings that are adding up to make their average score but I can only see X number of actual reviews.
If you then look at the same listing via a browser you can see the reviews (with their associated rating) plus the ones where it's just a rating.
I'd just like to see the ratings and the account that's posted them in the app in the same way as I can on the web.
Why would I want to see this you might ask?
Well... recently I've been getting flustered about a local business that's clearly using fake accounts to boost their ratings, if they get a negative review or even a 3* one then all of a sudden I see an influx of 5* ratings, usually associated with accounts with just that one submission on the platform. It helps me to identify businesses that might be acting in a dishonest way, especially when I can see those ratings are from the owner's personal account, that of his wife, from another business account he owns and so on... it helps to paint a picture.
Now I'm not saying Google act on any of this if I highlight it but even as a user if I visit a place I'm interested to try and see 20 5* ratings from accounts that have just rated that one place then I might not take it seriously, if there are then 5 ratings of 2* with reviews from LGs as well as these ratings then I might get an even better idea of the place and avoid it.
It works the other way, 5 great detailed reviews with photos from Local Guides would sway me over 20 1* reviews that look malicious.
So I just want the same kind of transparency in the app as I get in a browser please.
