I'm Mark from Scotland but I've been living in Galicia, Spain for 13 years and have been visiting here since 1994. I moved from Baiona to Ribadavia in 2020 to concentrate on promoting tourism including enotourism and the Camino de Santiago in Ribeiro Wine area which has Denomination of Origin.
I have guided for numerous international travel agencies and have taken English speaking groups starting in from Pamplona, Leon, Porto, Valença do Minho,Tui, Sarria,Ourense,Oia,Baiona and Vigo to Santiago de Compostela on walking-style, enotourism and gastronomic holidays as well as helping to write the notes and guidance for clients. I have also filmed nearly all of the Caminos de Santiago in Spain for Camino Ways and from Sarria for Santiago Ways.
I'm also an expert on tourism in Galicia, having written over 1000 pages of content for various websites.
I'm an active Blogger for Galicia Gastro, a group of Galician Bloggers having been a judge at numerous tapas competitions throughout Galicia as well as promoting gastronomic events, winery visits, inaugurations etc. I have teached English for Hollywood English and the Xunta de Galicia.
My passion in life is Geography. I studied it at University College London one of the best places to study it in the world. I'm a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I have Charted Geographer status. I'm a fantastic ambassador for Google Maps. I like travelling especially throughout Spain and the UK including Barcelona where I reside in winter. I speak and write British English as well as Spanish and Galician.
